1/20/2010: Haiti Earthquake Relief Fundraiser
The Haiti Earthquake Relief Fundraiser at the Banshee was one of our first successes for 2010 (with many more successful events to come)! Donations from those entering the bar were roughly $1,800, the bartenders were also kind enough to donate their tips, Ray and The Banshee contributed $1,000, and others who could not attend the event sent donations by mail resulting in a grand total of about $4,000!! This amount will go to the nonprofit HeartswithHaiti.org.
10/25-26/2008: BWRFC beats the Atlanta Harlequins 19-5 at Nationals!!!
The Boston Women’s Rugby Club would like to congratulate former BWRFC player Ashley Groefsema and the Berkeley All Blues for winning the USA Rugby Club Championship title for the second consecutive year! Ashley began her rugby career playing rugby at UCSB in the Fall of 2003. After graduating in 2004, Ashley traveled to the east coast and began playing with BWRFC in the fall of 2004. Ashley was an impact player on and off the field for BWRFC and you would most likely hear her voice directing everyone from the scrumhalf position. Sadly, Ashley moved back to the west coast to once again be with her family and play rugby with her sister, Blair, for the Berkeley All Blues. BWRFC certainly has had tough shoes to fill, however wishes Ashley all the best in her future. We miss you TRASH!
